Mangoes are the most delicious, the most tempting fruit. This, the king of fruits is not just mouthwatering, but nutritious too! Mangoes are a savory to all raw or ripe - the kids, adults as well as our grannies and grandpas. This golden yellow fruit is very secretive which leads to all sorts of wrong assumptions surrounding it.

SO, LET’S CHOP OFF THE MYTHS THAT RESISTS YOU FROM EATING THE MOST IRRESISTIBLE FRUIT

 

Myth#1: Mangoes are Fattening

Reality: Why blame mango for your weight gain? Mangoes are not fattening; they do not promote weight gain! In fact, it is loaded with vitamins A, C and E, mineral and has antioxidant property which actually accelerates fat burning process.

 

Myth#2: Mango causes Acne

Reality: Mangos are great for the skin as they are loaded with Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, magnesium, potassium, fibre and beta-carotene. Deficiency of these may make your skin look dull, dry and rough. These nutrient helps in healing your skin. When its pulp is rubbed on your face it cures acne, softens the skin and improves the complexion. Mangoes also protect the skin from UV rays damage.

 

Myth#3: It is very strongly believed that mango is responsible for increasing Blood Sugar levels

Reality: Mangoes are an equal mix of fructose and glucose both of which our body can digest very well. Glucose elevates the blood sugar level it in a low quantity. Each bite of delicious and succulent Mangoes blesses us with immense health benefits. It also has high amount of soluble fiber pectin that helps in lowering blood cholesterol levels. the fact is that the blood glucose levels are affected more by the amount of carbohydrates consumed.

 

Myth#4: People with Diabetes should not eat Mangoes

Reality: Good News for Diabetics, now you can relish this delicious fruit without having to think. Despite high sugar levels mangoes are recommended as they are low on glycemic index and possesses other nutrients as well which helps regulates your blood sugar level. Even the leaves of mangoes are healthy for diabetics. One can soak the leaves overnight in a vessel and boil them and drink.

 

Myth#5: Eating mangoes raises body temperature

Reality: When you eat ripen mangoes directly it does increase your body temperature. Fortunately, we already have a solution for it. All we need to do is soak these mangoes in water for half hour before enjoying them.

 

Pulpy, juicy and delectable, mango is a true star of the summer. Make sure you get a taste of as many as you can this season.
